Ask a Chio: Are chios kangaroo people?

Surprisingly, no! Chios are a genetically engineered species of creatures built from combined human and animal DNA.

Although, if you ask some of the Chios themselves, they might relate their creation myth to you instead.

What we do know for sure, is that they’re kind of cute.

Ask a Chio: Does a Chio have an afterlife? (since it was made by science n’ stuff)

Interesting question! Chios don’t have any really specific spiritual beliefs, but rather each individual tends to form their own beliefs and conclusions. Some believe in an afterlife, some don’t.

As to whether there’s an actual afterlife for Chios, well, that’s about as easy to confirm as it is for humans! I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Eldora is from Messenger, and Chios are featured in both Messenger and Follower!

Ask a Chio: Hello there fellow chio! (…)

Hello there fellow chio! As you can clearly see, I am a chio just like you and certainly not a human in a chio suit. So, how about we talk about normal chio things?

Chios are very giving!

They are from the comics Messenger and Follower!

Chio Club: New Chapter 3 Pages

New chapter 3 pages? Didn’t chapter 3 happen years ago? Well, technically, yeah, but last year I breezed through the chapter and made some improvements to the artwork for both print and PDF books! A lot of the work was color adjustments, but the pages have also been re-lettered and generally given better consistency.

View the new pages now on:

Right now, Chio Club members are getting new batches of these pages every Friday! They’ll eventually make their way to the regular site sometime in 2022, but they’re a major example of the kinds of work we’d like to accomplish on fixing up the website and pages via our latest Chio Club goal! If we can get to $100/month in Chio Club memberships, I can start doing this work for ALL of the Follower archive. We’re a third of the way there already!

As an example of what’s changed, take a look at this before and after:

Follower featured on The Duck Webcomics (and other places to read the comic)

Follower was included as a featured comic on The Duck, one of the mirror sites where the comic updates with “rerun” pages every day! The Duck (formerly DrunkDuck) is a long-running webcomics community where tons of comics you probably know got their start, and where you can find completely new stuff to read. You can read Follower on The Duck, although it’s currently behind the main site. Thanks again to The Duck for featuring our comic! It means a lot to both of us!

Where else can you find Follower on the internet?

Follower also updates on Comicfury and Webtoons!

Subscribing to Follower on any of these sites helps us reach new audiences and readers by showing the ever-important algorithm that people actually like the comic, especially on Webtoons. You also get the added bonus of notifications when a new page goes live!

And if you’d rather cut right to the chase, you can always get personal comic updates by signing up for our email updates or using RSS!

Interview on Ink, Sweat & Tears

Follower is a story that appears on the surface to be all gloom and doom and military dystopia, but at its heart it’s a story about learning to not always accept the world as it’s given, and the importance of trusting yourself, and finding those around you who you can trust just as closely.

Bug & Delade

Bug and Delade were interviewed this week for Ink, Sweat & Tears, a website dedicated to news about small artists, writers, and creative folks. Check out the interview here!
